Stephanie Menendez

Stephanie Menendez is an environmental professional with experience in climate research, environmental education, and community outreach. She earned her B.A. in Environmental Systems/Policy from the University of California, San Diego, and her A.S. in Professional Studies from Bergen Community College.

Most recently, Stephanie worked as a Climate Fellow with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service through the Hispanic Access Foundation, where she researched climate risks to natural resources on Army installations and supported environmental communication and outreach programs at national wildlife refuges. As an Environmental Educator at Tenafly Nature Center, she developed and led interactive programs for K–12 students and adults, helping participants connect with wildlife, watersheds, and conservation. She also served as an After-School Supervisor at Teaneck Charter School, coordinating educational and recreational activities while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

Her background also includes an Ocean Conservation Internship with WILDCOAST, where she led outreach on Marine Protected Areas, and an internship at Queens Botanical Garden, where she worked hands-on with children in gardening education. Earlier, Stephanie served as a Student Representative on the Teaneck Board of Education and as a Leading Officer for HEAL Girls’ Mentoring Organization, building her skills in leadership, communication, and community engagement.

Outside of her professional work, Stephanie enjoys hiking, sewing, water activities, and playing cozy games. She is passionate about combining science, creativity, and community to make a positive impact.
