Elaine Meier

As owner of Elaine Meier Associates, LLC., Elaine has worked on every nuance of public relations from product introduction to grand opening galas. Specialties include not-for-profit organizations, government and urban development, real estate, hospitality, architecture, art, and antiques. Her work with non-profit organizations has specialized in programs that create public awareness for fundraising support. Most recently, Elaine worked with the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades in Boynton Beach, Florida.

A native of Miami, Florida, Elaine’s background includes working 17 years in New York City for Hearst Magazines and other major corporations, including Cluett Peabody and the Hartmarx Corporation. Her work at Cluett Peabody focused on coordinating promotions with major sports celebrities and organizing conventions nationwide. At Hartmarx Corporation, then a billion-dollar conglomerate based in Chicago, Elaine advanced from ad manager for three retail chains in New York, to national advertising director for 22 chains with 325 stores nationwide, and finally to vice president, creative director, corporate working on major brands. 

Elaine moved to Boston for an equity position in an ad agency where she handled a $30 million account focusing on market analysis, media and budget management and created new strategies for the agency and client. 

Returning to her native Florida, Meier was hired as director of marketing and communications for the Downtown Development Authority in West Palm Beach, to develop Clematis Street. From there she worked as marketing and economic development for Mayor Nancy Graham and then for Related Companies’ CityPlace Partners in community relations.

Elaine also worked with a firm specializing in non-profit fundraising for organizations including The Salvation Army, Jewish Federation and many environmental and arts related organizations. She did strategic planning, feasibility studies, public relations and fundraising and was instrumental in major directional changes, management evaluation and restructuring for her accounts.

Meier is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County, a past board member of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and Gold Coast Public Relations Council. She is currently on the board of trustees of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller. She has volunteered at Hospice of Palm Beach County and Peggy Adam’s Animal Rescue League. Awards include: The New York Times Scholarship Award; Fashion Institute’s Alumni Award; Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, Member of the Year; Gold Coast PR Council, Best Campaign by a Small Company 2008 and 2011.

Elaine graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) in New York City and has a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
