National wildlife refuges are wildlife-first public lands. They’re also “nature next door” for communities across the country. But these places can’t protect themselves — especially when resources are stretched thin.

That’s where the National Wildlife Refuge Association comes in. We support refuge staff, strengthen on-the-ground conservation and community partnerships, and defend the policies and funding that keep the National Wildlife Refuge System strong.
