Let's Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week!

National Wildlife Refuge Week Kicks Off
This Sunday, October 9th!

Each year, during the second full week of October,  National Wildlife Refuge Week celebrates the greatest network of lands and waters set aside for wildlife and people alike, the National Wildlife Refuge System. In 2022, National Wildlife Refuge Week occurs October 9-15.

The National Wildlife Refuge Association would like to encourage all individuals, Refuge Friends groups, and other partner organizations to participate in uplifting wildlife refuges throughout the week, highlighting what makes them so special and important. National wildlife refuges are critical public lands not just for wildlife conservation, but also for enhancing biodiversity, climate mitigation and coastal resiliency, recreational opportunities, providing urban communities with access to nature, and much more.
