Susan Rutherford

Susan will work to build a vibrant and sustainable individual and major giving program and to diversify funding for the National Wildlife Refuge Association. Susan has been involved in development for 25+ years as a staff member, volunteer, or consultant to educational, social service, or arts organizations. She served as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of San Francisco and as a long-time volunteer for William & Mary, where she has raised millions of dollars. Most recently, she raised more than $100,000 for a performing arts organization during their day of giving and helped to triple the number of monthly recurring donors for her client.

Susan holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from William & Mary, an M.S in Nonprofit Management from the New School, and an M.S. in Operations Research from George Mason University. She is passionate about connecting donors to projects where they can make an impact. A Washington, DC area native, she has visited all 50 states and traveled throughout Latin America independently with her family. She now lives in Delray Beach, Florida, and is discovering the coast by standup paddleboarding and snorkeling.
