Prior to joining the National Wildlife Refuge Association, he was Principal and COO at Lang Strategies, LLC. A business consulting firm that he cofounded. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations and also led the Business Development practice area for the organization. Marco spent eight years as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the DC Chamber of Commerce. He was responsible for the organization’s day-to-day operations and led the Chamber from its financial challenges to one of the strongest and most fiscally responsible business groups in Washington, D.C., and the entire region.
Prior to his time at the DC Chamber, Marco served as Executive Director of the Hispanic Council on International Relations (HCIR), where he streamlined operations, directed fundraising initiatives for individuals, foundations and corporations, and facilitated communications on foreign affairs issues to the Administration, Congress, affiliate Hispanic groups and organizations and the general public. He also managed core academic institutes and educational initiatives aimed at students interested in the field of international affairs during his time at the United Negro College Fund Special Project Institute for International Public Policy (IIPP).
Marco holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from Durham University in the United Kingdom and an undergraduate degree in American Studies from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Marco has lived in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and many parts of Latin America. He enjoys reading and traveling.
