O’Brien Prize For Refuge Friends

Through the generosity of some of the National Wildlife Refuge Association’s great Board Members, the O’ Brien Prize, an annual award for our Friends groups, was established. The prize is named after Donal O’Brien III, a past Board Chair and longtime enthusiast of the National Wildlife Refuge System. Don is a generous supporter of the great work the National Wildlife Refuge Association does for national wildlife refuges and is very impressed by the dedication and effectiveness of Refuge Friends groups. The O’Brien Prize is given annually to a non-profit Refuge Friends Group, and the prize money goes towards a project on the ground. Please read on below to learn more about the O’Brien Prize and the Refuge Friends Groups who have won it in the past.
