Bill Reported to Restore Protections to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

Last week, the House Natural Resources passed a bill out of committee on a vote of 22-14 to restore protections to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. In December 2017, the tax bill opened the refuge to seismic testing and oil and gas leasing and changed the purpose of the refuge to include oil and gas exploration. The “Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act”, H.R. 1146, is critical for keeping this iconic wildlife refuge free of oil and gas exploration and to protect wildlife species.

New Draft House Bill Would Gut The Land And Water Conservation Fund

Today a draft bill was released to re-write one of the most successful conservation programs in U.S. history, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and if enacted, would essentially end the federal side of the program.
