NFWF Friends Grants Program 2018

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Announces 2018 Friends Grants Program

Friends organizations must submit their proposals before midnight on September 27 for grants that provide funding for organizational capacity building; projects initiated and managed by Friends organizations; and peer-to-peer coaching.

This year, for the first time, grants also will be available for projects that enhance and increase sustainable hunting and fishing experiences on national wildlife refuges, including habitat restoration projects. The grants, sponsored by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, range from $1,500-$15,000.

Awards will be announced during the week of December 14. Capacity building grants can used to help start new organizations or build the strength of existing organizations, including membership drives. Specific project proposals must show Friends involvement in all elements of the project. Peer-to-peer coaching proposals must include a draft meeting agenda. The public recreation enhancement grants can cover, for example, construction of new recreational infrastructure like roads, trails, boat ramps, fishing docks, hunt blinds and information signs and kiosks that better welcome and orient hunters and anglers.
